The Socioeconomic Justice Institute is a nonpartisan, Web-based research, education and policy development organization. SJI is dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and raising public awareness of how the government - and especially the judicial branch - treat the poor. We conduct original research, provide education, and propose policy related to issues that affect the socioeconomically disadvantaged in California.
